I received a sample of Dr Lipp’s Original Nipple Balm For Lips, in it’s cool little charcoal coloured tube with a striking thin pink square on the front, and it’s retro style black and white writing. The striking packaging was the first thing I noticed, and I had already visualised it on my make-up dressing table; the design would fit right in with the rest of my favourite products! But when I read the title of the product, I must say I became rather dubious to say the very least. I thought, “Nipple balm? For the lips? Are you serious?”
Intrigued, I decided to read more about the product on the back of the packaging. Here’s what was written:
This is THE BEST lip balm I have ever used. FACT!
This Bobbi Brown lip balm comes in a cool, silver tin with a retro design. The pink balm inside doesn’t have much of a scent, when you open the lid, which I’m thankful for! Some lip balms can have a synthetic aroma, when they are trying to emulate a fruity scent, which isn’t very appealing!
So what is the Emotional Brilliance range? It is a 100% vegan colour range of cosmetics containing lip colours, eyeliners and eyeshadows. It’s a completely new concept; one has to click on a wheel containing 30 colours on the Lush website, which spins when clicked. Once it stops you must pick three colours that appeal to you. The premise of this is for you to choose the colours that you are are drawn to naturally, not because they are your favourite colours, or colours that are this season’s trend.
Oh how I have fallen in love with these lipsticks! I was so excited when Neal’s Yard announced that they were bringing out a range of lipsticks! However, I must admit I was slightly apprehensive, their skincare and bath and body cosmetics are so amazing, was their make-up range going to live up to such a high standard? After a few weeks of trialing their lipsticks I can firmly announce that yes, they have done it again!
The Wild Rose Beauty Balm has become some-what of a cult favourite, and I can understand why! The moment I opened the cobalt blue jar containing 50g’s of pure rosy goodness, I was in love! The smell of roses is so delicious, it is reminiscent of a typical English garden, full of blossoming flowers. To me, this product is England, in a jar! It glides onto the skin with such ease, and nourishes, as you massage it into the skin. Only a small amount is needed, so the jar lasts a long time. It also comes with a free organic muslin cloth to enable you to try the various suggested uses. The balm is suitable for all skin types, and it has been dermatologically tested. It’s so versatile, I’m loving finding new uses for it every day! The organic wild rosehip seed oil is one of the richest natural sources of vitamins, including A, B1 and B2. These are essential nutrients, antioxidants and essential fatty acids, which we need to maintain healthy skin.
Whilst reading magazines, so many celebrities talk about their love of Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, it has become something of a ‘Cult Classic Product’ . I always used to think I must try it. However, one day while watching a friend using it I saw the colour of the cream as it came out of the tube, (it’s a shade of apricot at first, then appears clear once applied), I was completely put off.
Fabulous product! It’s an organic tea tree based balm which can be used for many purposes and all over the body. I use it for dry skin, itchy skin, use it after shaving my legs, a body moisturizer, for eczema, a facial cleansing balm, I use on split ends and rinse out, can be used on cold sores, bites and grazes to name just a few uses. There is always a pot of The Green Balm in my bag! It has a nice texture and soaks in well. It has a nice subtle smell of tea tree which isn’t as overpowering as the tea tree oil on it’s own. It usually costs about £4.99 for the 15ml handbag size or £9.99 for the 50ml larger pot. This company is firmly against animal testing, so another reason to buy this multipurpose wonder-balm! This is a great cheek stain and lip stain, it’s a deep red colour in the bottle but a subtle rosy glow when applied on the apples of the cheeks or lips. If you apply in three lines horizontally across the apple of your cheeks and then rub it into the skin in circular motions the result should be a natural rosy glow. For a deeper glow add a few more dots of the Benetint where needed. I love the slight shimmer it gives but not so much as an obvious highlighter. Plus it’s great for nights out as it eliminates the need for blusher, blusher brush and lipstick.
I LOVE this moisturising lip scrub.
It is made of coconut and jojoba oils, sugar, sea salt and polenta are the perfect mix to buff your lips and leave them smooth and moisturised.
My lips are so soft after I’ve used it and it’s yummy!
It’s vegan too!
Out of this little round pot, with a rosy cheeked lady smiling at me on the lid, is quite possibly the best lip balm I’ve ever used. When I first open the pot there is a faint fragrance of roses, beautiful! The lip balm is thick and smooth and when applied glides onto the lips with ease. The lips stay lubricated for an unexpectedly long time after application, which sets this lip balm apart from cheaper alternatives. It has an SPF of 15 so it protects your lips from the sun too, bonus!
