"Secrets Of A Beauty Addict" interviews up and coming model Samantha Woolnough

Beauty Addict: Hi there Sam thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk to us. Where might our readers have seen your face before?

Samantha: I have worked on This Morning catwalks, Lorraine catwalks, New Look Inspire Champaign, Asda Promotional material for the Daily Mail, Gok Wan for Sainsbury’s, Ideal world shopping channel, QVC, Fashion World online showcase, Simply Be and Dynasty fashion.

Beauty Addict: Sounds exciting. What secrets can you tell us about getting ready for a shoot?

Samantha: I always try to drink plenty of water and eat healthily, as no make-up can cover up the effects of dehydrated skin. On the morning of a shoot I like to make sure I have moisturized my skin well, as sometimes I have slightly dry skin. Clarins skin care range is great for this. They use all natural ingredients and they do a specific moisturizer for twenty something’s, it’s called Multi-Active Day Early Wrinkle Correction Cream-Gel £39.00. If I’m on a tighter budget I go for the Boots No7 Protect & Perfect Day Cream 50ml. At £22, it’s still pricey but a really good product.

Beauty Addict: They are going straight on my ‘Must Try’ list, thanks! What about make-up, do make up artists tend to use certain products on you?

Samantha: On a shoot the make-up artist usually uses MAC make up products which are great in all areas. I love the MAC Sheen Supreme lipstick as it’s a soft veil of colour, in loads of great shades. My favorite look has got to be the deep red lipstick I wore on my first shoot as a model. I think red lips are so classic and feminine. MAC Ruby Woo from the pro lip pallet (£35) is the perfect shade of red for me and gives me the perfect pout. Max factor’s Lipfinity in HOT is also great for this, as it stays put for ages £10.99 from Boots.

Beauty Addict: Sounds gorge! So do you have any style icons you are influenced by?

Samantha: I think that Jennifer Aniston always looks amazing and never over done, she has a really natural beauty to her and makes the most of it with sun kissed skin and natural make-up. I also think Rita Ora has an amazing, funky sense of style and I love her bright lipsticks. I think it’s great that she pushes the boundaries of fashion and mixes classic looks with fresh styles

Beauty Addict: How about when you’re not at work. Do you still wear make up?

Samantha: I’m quite a natural at make-up both in and out of work. I always have my make-up kit with me, I have few favorites I never go without. Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream £7.99, it’s great for a light base and provides light coverage, giving a really natural look but still evening the skin tone. I then use Maybelline Dream Touch Lumi
Concealer £6.99 to cover up any dark circles. It works just like the Touch éclat pen but for a fraction of the price! Then I add mascara and blush to finish the look. I’m currently using the Maybelline Illegal Length Mascara £8.49 as it gives great long looking lashes with just two coats.

Beauty Addict: What about for a night out, what products do you use then?

Samantha: For a more dramatic look, I love to either have a red lipstick or dark smokey eyes. I use a soft khol pencil such as Maybelline Master Drama Khol £4.99 and a liquid or gel liner for the top lid to give a nice cat’s eye affect.

Beauty Addict: So what about make up removal? I bet it feels great at the end of a long shoot to cleanse the skin.

Samantha: I use Simple face wipes to remove make-up and to cleanse my skin morning and night. It’s great for sensitive skin and really makes my skin feel soft and clean. The Simple facial wash is also brilliant; my boyfriend pinches it all the time. It gives a great clean feeling but doesn’t make my face feel ‘tight’.

Beauty Addict: Any other advice you can share with us?

Samantha: I always moisturize my whole body every day, as a key part of my beauty routine. Palmer’s coco butter is great for this or Nivea body lotion. I’m also a bit of a budget girl, I prefer to find a really good and reasonable priced item and if I don’t like it, it’s not a waste. Tesco currently do a great range called BD and there products are fabulous and you can collect all the shades you want at really great prices. Plus you can pick it up whilst you grab a pint of milk! Lastly my most important tip, I absolutely cannot live without Boots Natural Collection Lip Balm Gloss in Mango and Papaya. It’s especially made for chapped lips and provides a great shine with an amazing smell. I buy three of them every time I’m in Boots, just to make sure I always have a stock of them. My friends are addicted too, In the past I have given them a balm as extra birthday gift and after that, they were hooked on it too. Plus its only £3.49!

Beauty Addict: Thanks Sam, some great tips there, that lip balm sounds awesome! Wishing you continued success in your modeling career and keep us posted here at www.secretsofabeautyaddict.co.uk
