Today I write about Marilyn Monroe, the incredibly beautiful and iconic, Hollywood star. A deeply personal letter of her’s is being auctioned online on the 30th May, by the memorabilia dealer ‘Profiles in History’, who appears on the US television show, ‘Hollywood Treasure’.
Nicole Scherzinger is known for many things, her time with The Pussycat Dolls, her solo career, judging jobs on the US X Factor and the UK X Factor, or even because of her relationship with Formula One driver, Lewis Hamilton. During last year’s UK X Factor, Scherzinger was liked because of her outrageous comments, great mentoring and her famous unique adjectives to describe the act’s performances. For example, ‘Shamazing’ , which was her most used phrase, that took the country by storm! With her flirtatiousness , fiery attitude, and sense of fun, she was a great choice of judge! She would even get up and dance if she was enjoying an act’s performance! The nation fell in love with her!
Lauren Conrad is currently in India where they are celebrating the Hindu festival of Holi. The festival is a celebration of colour, and to some it is known simply as, ‘The Festival of Colours’! It is an opportunity to say ‘farewell’ to winter and to celebrate the start of the spring season. It occurs on the full moon day in the month of Phalguna. Originally people would use this special time of ‘new life’, to hope for fertile lands and good harvests for the rest of the year. It also has a religious significance too, of course. Click here for more information.
It has been suggested that Holi is one of the most exhilarating, religious holidays in exsistance. This is because it is like a wild party, it has bonfires and people dancing in the streets. They also celebrating the array of colour that spring brings after the cold winter season, by throwing coloured powder, paint and water at one another in complete abandon. Here is Conrad below during the celebrations:
Rachel Stevens from S club 7 fame, was a celebrity guest on last Saturday’s, Saturday Kitchen, with James Martin. She was wearing a deep yellow tunic top with three quarter length sleeves and a boat neck cut neckline. Her hair was brown as usual but she was sporting the ‘in trend’ dip die style. She had a dark top length and small lighter ends that flicked out at the sides of her face. The modern style of hair really updated her look, therefore she didn’t need any other accessories. Her make-up was simple but effective and she had clashing bright orange nails which also made her over all look a bit more edgy than her usual ‘girl next door’ look.
Emma Watson, aka Hermione from Harry Potter, is the epitome of English-ness. She has a refined, almost lyrical voice, that would be well suited at Oxford or Cambridge, and she remains a lot more reserved than many other current celebrities. Perhaps, it’s because she is wise enough to let her hair down out of the public eye. There is such a great sadness in the knowledge that photographers will position themselves to get the most unflattering pose of a celebrity, just to sell the pictures. Which is hardly the stereotypical gentlemanly reputation that English men are reported to possess. When I speak to foreign people about this country, they describe a quaint image of England. I find myself in conversations about the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Pennines or the Peak district, tea and crumpets, or strawberries and cream. They talk about the bowling greens and cricket grounds, where people are said to enjoy high tea and scones. They talk of ladies and of gentleman, and of etiquette and elocution. It’s how a lot of foreigners envision our daily lifestyles. Thankfully, there is still a small minority where these traditions still live on. Emma Watson with her genteel demeanor, kindness, and refined attitude, is the stereotypical ‘English Rose’, she flies the flag for young females, to prove that there are actually some ladies in this generation!
Gwyneth Paltrow has had a hard time of it in the media lately, with headlines such as, ‘Gwyneth Paltrow is too Righteous’, ‘Gwyneth Paltrow infuriates ‘average women’, ‘Gwyneth Paltrow Admits Starving Her Kids So They “Look Good” – Child Abuse?’, ‘How Gwyneth Paltrow’s restrictive diet leaves her children hungry’, ‘Gwyneth Paltrow’s Kids Are Going Hungry On Her Intense Diet!’, there are plenty more, believe me, but I think you get the picture.
Poor old Carol Vorderman, not only has she had to deal with the pain of her fall down the stairs, a broken nose and having surgery on her face, she has also had to deal with a torrent of interest and accusations about the whole ordeal. People have been particularly interested in Vorderman, in case the ‘fall’ was a cover-up for the fact that she had secretly indulged in plastic surgery.
Katy stunned fans at the 26th Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles on the 23rd March. She was wearing a bright yellow, black and blue print, outfit by Hervé Léger by Max Azria , as she walked down the infamous orange carpet . The co-ordinated look is very ‘in’ at the moment and Perry shows us why – she looked amazing in her matching two piece! Her killer curves were complimented perfectly by the pencil skirt, and bralet combo. She accessorized with a pair of black Christian Louboutin heels, blue nails and gold bangles.
The Les Miserables star looked like a petite porcelain doll in her pastel grey almost lilac fitted dress. Her hair was styled in a beautiful chignon in the nape of her neck.
Her delicate halter neck dress had a tear shaped hole at the centre of her chest and a long train of embroidered sheer fabric. She looked like the ‘Belle of the ball’!
The gorgeous Corination Street actress Georgia May Foote, looked absolutely amazing at the Television and Radio Industries Club (TRIC) awards last week at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London on Tuesday 12th March. She was there to represent Corination Street in the TV Soap Of The Year Award, which they won. She was wearing a beautiful, blue, body-con dress by Lipsy. It was sleeveless and had an unusual turtleneck design, which isn’t seen very often, perhaps she will be starting a new trend. She added a pop of bright pink on her lips and a matching pink on her peep toe satin heels, which complimented the vivid navy blue of the dress. She didn’t need any other accessories than that, as her simple, glossy, long, wavy locks of hair did all the talking.
