'Britain's Best Gymnast' Is Proving To Be A Wizz On The Ice Too! Beth Tweddle – You're A Super Star!

She rocked the London Olympics 2012 and is now rocking the ice rink every Sunday night, is there any end to Beth Tweddle’s abilities? I think not! Tweddle, 27, won the Bronze on the uneven bars at the 2012 Olympics and did the country proud in a competition where historically Britain is renowned for not doing so well, that was until Tweddle arrived!

Tweddle originally studied Sports Science at Liverpool John Moores University while training heavily with her gymnastics. Remarkably she managed to attain a 2:1 and was accepted to study Physiotherapy at the University of Liverpool, all the while perfecting her Bhardwaj or Jaeger (I promise that’s real gymnastic terminology!) . She deffered her place so that she could concerntrate on the 2012 Olympic games. What an inspiring woman! The success does not end there because in 2010 she was included in the Queen’s New Years Honours List where her hard work and dedication to gymnastics was recognised with an MBE.

Not only does Tweddle compete at Olympic level, she and fellow Olympian, Steve Parry, have started a company called Total Gymnastics. Total Gymnastics tries to make their sport more accessible to all children, they use leisure centres, schools and clubs to get them involved in gymnastics all around the country. Have a look for yourself on their website if you would like more information. http://www.totalgymnastics.co.uk/

Currently Tweddle is still going strong on Dancing On Ice, she is down to the last three with Matt Lapinskas and Luke Campbell. Her partner Daniel Whiston is a Dancing On Ice veteran and has won the show twice once with Gaynor Faye and once with Hayley Tamaddon, so she is in expert hands! Her ariel routine was simply divine and she is looking stunning in her sparkly outfits! Everyone keep your fingers crossed for the final!
