She was yet again every inch the ‘belle of the ball’ at this year’s Oscars. Amy Adams, the actress from films such as Doubt (2008), Fighter (2010), Enchanted (2007), Leap Year (2010), Julie & Julia (2009), Night at the Museum: 2(2009), AND the Muppets (2011), wore a stunning powder blue Oscar de la Renta strapless gown. As if recreating the infamous scene from Enchanted, where she arrives in New York in her lusicious white princess dress. Ah, I love that film! Adams walked down that red carpet with regal grace and serenity, as she posed happily for picture after picture. The sweetheart neckline on her strapless gown emphasized her delicate feminity, and with the beautifully, intricate linear stitching on the bodice which lead to her small waist, the illusion of an hour glass shape was created. This was then complimented with the tiers of layer after layer of light fluffy tulle. Other than a chic natural bun at the nape of her neck and her tear drop earrings, Adam’s let the surperb dress do the talking. The overall effect oozed femninity at it’s most exaggerated level. So it isn’t suprising that the newspapers have commented on her look very favourably, although many commented that she was seen having her dress altered minutes before walking down the red carpet. Adams needed an award for still looking so cool, after that minor hiccup!
She was then joined by her other half Darren Le Gallo. At his side Adams looked radiant, partly due to her superb make up application and secondly down to the beaming happiness that she emits on his arm. It truely looks like he is her ‘Prince Charming!’ Once inside Adams waited for the result of Best Supporting Actress Award for her role in The Master. Unfortunately for Adams, Anne Hathaway won , for her role in Les Miserables, but who better to lose to than Anne Hathaway. I hope that was of some consolation to her. Next year Amy, next year!
