I started the Purearth Energise 5 day detox on Wednesday 6th February. I was so excited about receiving my juices and making the first step towards better health. They arrived promptly at 9am and were in pristine condition and considering they came from London I was impressed. They had eco-friendly packaging and looked quite retro and very appetizing with their vivid colours. So I began my day with warm water and a slice of lemon as Angelina had recommended. Angelina is the co-founder of Purearth. She and Tenna began the company with their aim to bring better health to their customers and to ‘kick modern life into shape’. They are two of the nicest ladies I have dealt with, they genuinely care about their customers, wanting them to get the best from each cleanse. The thorough form that each customer has to fill in prior to their cleanse, allows them to tailor the package to one’s personal needs.
Personally, my detox was a bit of a challenge because I am on extremely strong painkillers for a condition with my back. But it was approved by my Doctor so I was good to go. I found the detox appealing because the diet of juices mean that the digestive system is switched off and your body goes into something called ‘autolysis’. Autolysis allows the extra energy saved from digestion to be used to repair muscles and cells. Another benefit of the detox is the elimination of the build up of toxins that modern day living accrues. I also wanted to go with Purearth as they are environment friendly too and I loved their mission statement on their website.
I had a morning juice, beauty elixir, mid-day juice, evening juice and green water to hydrate throughout the day. They also suggest the use of a home enema but because of my condition I couldn’t do this. If you do use the home enema they supply an added supplement which helps flush the toxins out of the back passage. I also had herbal teas during the cleanse which was a warming treat.
The first few juices tasted nice, and I preferred the mid-day juice. I’m not going to say it’s an easy process though. The repetition of the same juices and the start of withdrawal symptoms from substances such as caffeine made it a difficult task. But they say that these symptoms will subside after three days on the detox. Unfortunately on the fourth day I had to use a medicine which required something on my stomach meaning I had to stop my detox early. I was very disappointed as my withdrawal symptoms had started to dissipate and I was feeling more alert and less achy.
I loved knowing that I was nourishing my body with organic raw produce that Angelina and Tenna had handpicked and mixed with other natural ingredients to help me reach optimum health. They also kept in contact during the cleanse to check how I was getting on and also to provide motivation to continue doing the good work. I really appreciated that as I felt like I had let myself and everyone else down by not doing the full 5 days. Angelina was very supportive and told me I will have received lots of benefits from the three days I managed because the juices are so nutritious and vitamin rich. I felt better after hearing that.
I would definitely recommend trying one of these cleanses if you are serious about wanting to get healthier, as the benefits certainly outway the difficulty of sticking to it. I will definitely be using them again! Thanks again Angelina and Tenna xx
