Out of this little round pot, with a rosy cheeked lady smiling at me on the lid, is quite possibly the best lip balm I’ve ever used. When I first open the pot there is a faint fragrance of roses, beautiful! The lip balm is thick and smooth and when applied glides onto the lips with ease. The lips stay lubricated for an unexpectedly long time after application, which sets this lip balm apart from cheaper alternatives. It has an SPF of 15 so it protects your lips from the sun too, bonus!
What I don’t like about this Benetint Lip Balm is the colour it makes my lips. Usually my lips are quite pale but when this lip balm is applied it looks like I’m wearing vivid red lipstick . On the Benefit website the product is described as ‘a translucent shade’, however, you can see from the colour of the balm itself that it isn’t translucent.
The balm does make the lips look beautifully glossy, but for me, just not suitable look for every day use. Despite this if you can get your hands on a tester or ask at a Benefit counter to try it, you can judge for yourself. The colour may suit you for everyday use and it is currently on sale on the benefit website for £7, half price!
